As the spring and summer have crossed over Katy, TX, runny noses have been a common theme in the Gayser House. Teaching the girls what was the proper items to wipe their runny noses on was easy enough. The concept of blowing gave us some challenges but now they have mastered both.
The problem:
Now when the onset of the slightest bit of a runny nose occurs, an entire box of Kleenex is attached to the child's hand for the duration of the runny nose including during sleeping time. The box of Kleenex is cuddled with like their baby doll or squeaky. With this totting around comes wear and tear on the box. Once the box become torn or damaged in anyway, it is rendered useless and the child then demands a new box. Realizing that this is a silly request we have told them on multiple occasions that they were not going to get another one until that one was empty. One of two things occur at this point. 1. said box is then emptied of any remaining tissues to fulfill the requirement to get the new tissue box or 2. does not bother with emptying the old tissue box but goes into an all out fit that will last hours if a new box is not obtained.
Oh my children are so fun.
